Live band - funk, dance, RandB, covers and originals.  blue number nine puts on a show that is like a party with choreographed dancing and lots of energy.  Everything from corporate functions to parties to bars.

If you seeking something other than your average cover band, look no further. An amazing live phenomenon and 6-11 members deep, blue number nine can pare down to an instrumental trio or quartet and then later, it's all about fun. It's like a party onstage whenever this tight and lively unit kicks out their original jams and creative re-makes.

Formed in Jersey City in 1995, with members from NJ and NY, blue number nine is lead by Stefanie Seskin (lead vocals/flute/songwriter), a former soccer jock who holds a Master's in Communications and is a and 2003 recipient of the ASCAPLU$ songwriter award from ASCAP in the Popular category. Sal Carubba (guitar) is a New Jersey native. Marco Accattatis (bass, back up vocals) is from Italy. Jack M. Gourdine II (drums) is an Army brat from Okinawa, and Sheila Connors, from Buffalo, NY, Amy Leeds from Nebraska and Camari Frame, from Detriot, MI, belt out back up vocals while dancing in energetic synch. Together they are as one - mind, body and soul. The music is a blend of eclectic, danceable yet listenable funk, jazz, pop and all manner of rhythm and groove and at times, they bring in horns and/or keyboards to fatten up the mix further.

blue number nine is the first independent band ever to receive an endorsement from Ultimate Support, creators of guitar, speaker, microphone and other stands. Drummer Jack Gourdine received an endorsement from Silver Fox Percussion in 2002. The band was invited two years in a row (2000 and 2001) to play the Levi's First Stage at Jones Beach prior to the headliner,Chicago, and in 2000, the band was a finalist in the Sennheiser Evolution band contest. bn9's self-produced debut CD was released in May 2000; in October 2001, the band released a live CD. Their third CD was produced and engineered by Seskin and released in June 2003. All can be purchased at their website, (designed by the band1s lead singer Stefanie) at shows, or at all the major music retail stores online. Meantime, come see blue number nine! Get Funked!
